You will experience Slovenia with our expert photographic guides along with local guides providing insight and knowledge into Slovenian culture. Accommodation and restaurants have been handpicked to combine a rustic local touch mixed with the finest luxuries Slovenia has to offer.
Snow-capped peaks, rugged mountain ranges, glacial lakes and turquoise rivers, coupled with its natural features and breathtaking architecture, make Slovenia a true photographers paradise. Not far from Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana is Bled. Set on a glacial lake fed by thermal springs, the town of Bled contains a church-topped islet and a cliffside medieval castle and is quite possibly one of Slovenia’s most famous attractions and our welcome dinner in this castle perched high above the lake is sure to be a highlight.

- A DSLR Camera with lens/lenses
- Spare batteries, there will be a long days with plenty of shooting.
- A sturdy tripod.
- Remote shutter release.
- Filters if you have them (Polarizer/Graduated/Neutral Density).
- Good walking shoes.
- Wet weather gear & a compact umbrella(rain will not hold us back).
- Your creative brains.
- The weather can change very quickly in the mountains, we recommend some warm clothing but as always in these places layers are best.
- Comfortable warm clothing.
- Layering your clothing is best. Temperature can quickly change.
- Good supportive boots. Warm and waterproof would be best.

Meeting time & place
Day 1 –Arrival to Slovenia
Arrive in Ljubljana and transfer to Bled. The workshop starts with an evening shoot to capture ‘blue hour’ at iconic lake Bled. Welcome dinner at one of Lake Bled’s fine restaurants.
Day 2-5 – Lake Bled & Julian Alps
We have three full days to explore and photograph Lake Bled and the amazing Julian Alps. Our subjects will vary from lakes and rivers, frozen waterfalls to hilltop churches and alpenglow on the highest peaks of Triglav National Park. We might even drive across the border into Italy or Austria in search for perfect winter conditions. If weather allows, we will take a hot-air balloon over Julian Alps – a once-in-a-lifetime adventure! As a reward for braving winter conditions we will be spoilt by some of the best food and wine the region has to offer. And nothing better than hopping into a pool of thermal healing water at the end of the day!
Day 6-7 – Ljubljana and around
Next stop is Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. A small and charming town with beautiful architecture and pedestrian only old town. During the next 2 days we’ll explore the hidden corners of the old city, with its baroque churches, diverse architectural details and castle with views across the capital. Weather permitting, we drive to one of Slovenia’s iconic hilltop churches for a sunrise. And again, foodies will be spoilt by Ljubljana’s amazing food – we might even take a food walk to sample best that the city has to offer!
Day 8 – Departure from Slovenia
If time allows, a sunrise shoot in Ljubljana and a breakfast. Transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.
Included in Slovenia Photo Tour 2019 cost:
Services of 2 professional photographic tour leaders, photographic tuition and workshops (suitable for any levels or ability). Internal travel and transfers. Minimum 4-star accommodation with private bathrooms on twin share / double basis. All meals are included (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Not included in Slovenia Photo Tour 2019 cost:
Travel to Slovenia. Alcohol, extra drinks, room service, laundry, gifts, souvenirs and any extras purchased. Travel insurance – a compulsory condition of booking. Camera or other optional insurances are not included.

All of our Photo Tours require a moderate level of fitness. There are no major walks but where possible we would like our guests to be able to walk for about an hour if needed. Check with your tour guide before leaving and we can give you a better idea of any special fitness requirements you may need to complete the Tour.
Private Guided Tours
If groups are not for you and you would prefer to travel by yourself or with a group of friends and family then we can accommodate your needs by customizing a Photography Tour to suit your individual needs, schedule, budget and interests.
