Tour Overview
Day 1 – Lake Tekapo
The Drive to Lake Tekapo will need to be a very quick one we will aim to get there for Sunset but it will be touch and go. There may be the opportunity to do some astro photography if we miss the sunset. Lake Tekapo is home to the Church of the Good Shepard. The image below is exactly what you will be capturing.
Day 2 – Lake Tekapo to Wanaka
We will wake today to do a sunrise on the lake then back for a quick breakfast before heading off to Wanaka. On the way to Wanaka there will be many opportunities to stop and photograph some incredible locations. We will head into Mount Cook for a quick look and pass through Lindis Pass where I will have a very special location organised for you to photograph. When we arrive at Wanaka we’ll check in to the Edgewater Resort.

Day 3 – Lake Wanaka to Te Anau
On day 3 we’ll start with a sunrise shoot before heading for breakfast. After breakfast we’ll hit the road and head off on the long drive to Te Anau. Again we will be stopping along the way before reaching our next hotel, Distinction Luxmore. Te Anau is a wonderful little town and is the entrance to Fiordland.
Day 4 – Te Anau – Milford Sound
Day 4 is up for grabs at this point in time. Whether we will shoot a sunrise in Te Anau or hit the road early and head to Milford Sound for sunrise will all depend on the weather. Milford Sound is renowned for its relentless rain and moody skies. We’ll make the decision on this one over dinner in Te Anau. Either way, we’ll end up in Milford Sound some time that day and we’ll be checking into the Milford Lodge for the night. The drive to Milford is spectacular to say the least, it has some of the most pristine rainforests and we will be stopping at some very secret locations to capture something really different. The image below is one of those locations.

Day 5 – Milford Sound – Queenstown
On Day 5 we’ll be starting off with a sunrise shoot at Milford Sound. Its an amazing place with huge mountains rising straight up out of the waters edge. Once we check out of the hotel we’ll begin the drive back to Queenstown. There is so much to shoot on the way back but we’ll try to shoot only the best stuff. The day will finish off with a sunset in Queenstown before dinner.
Day 6 – Queenstown
Another sunrise probably at Coronet Peak before breakfast in Arrowtown and some free time in Queenstown before heading to the airport.
