Glenn Mckimmin

Founder / Photographer

For me, there is nothing quite like being completely and utterly alone, out in the wilderness, the dusty red outback, perhaps sitting by a fast- flowing creek or on a deserted beach as the waves roll in. Just me and my camera. Waiting for that perfect moment, when I hit the shutter button and hope I’ve got a shot which will connect people with the heart and soul of my location and evoke an emotional response.

I love photography for this very reason. It’s a medium which allows me to create that connection, and bring the beauty of our natural world to light for people to enjoy. It’s also my great hope that my images will inspire people to look after the world around them, and to have a greater respect for our environment.

Andrew Cooney

The way I create my work is a little different. I take on each project with a unique style, and not only tell the viewer the story, but showcase the beauty around it in the best way I can. I work with select people who I connect with and understand. I want to showcase only the best of a business, or athlete or place. Your passion is told through my passion.

Meet Our Guides

The Fotoworkshops photography tours and workshops are led by industry leading landscape photographers.
Tour participants will have the opportunity to learn from Glenn McKimmin, Ken Duncan, Rod Thomas, Charles Davis and Josh Osbourne.

The Fotoworkshops guides are among the best in their fields, and strive to give each and every participant the most enjoyable, educational and memorable tour experience possible.

Ken Duncan

Photography Pioneer / Guide

Ken Duncan is well known as the pioneer of Limited Edition Photographic Art in Australia. After a visit to New York in the early 1980’s, Ken returned home with a dream to see photography widely accepted as an art form in this country. The increasing number of Australian photographers now emulating his panoramic style and finding a market for their work is testimony to Ken’s success.

Charles Davis

Photographer / Guide

Charles Davis (or Charlie as his friends know him) has been photographing the amazing natural world around him for the past seven years. Primarily focusing on Australian wildlife in and around his home in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. Charlie’s family has owned a large sheep farm near Cooma, NSW for six generations and it is here that he finds much of the inspiration for his work. The knowledge gained about the Australian high country, through generations of farming, hiking, and skiing, has been a massive asset in understanding the animals and their habitats in order to capture the amazing world seen in Charlie’s photos. Charlie has recently finished a Bachelor of Ecology, which has become a very valuable asset to his career as a professional Nature photographer.

Rod Thomas

Photographer / Guide

Born and raised on The Central Coast, NSW, Australia, I was lucky enough to get my first camera at age 15 to take pictures of my mates surfing. It was from that moment I knew I wanted to be a photographer of some sort. As time went on I gradually brought more camera gear and sold some older equipment to fund my camera addiction. I travelled to Europe when I was 25 years old and that only enhanced what I wanted to do.. and that was take photos.

Josh Osbourne

Driven by his mission to empower people towards their Destiny through: inspirational influence, media and story telling. Josh is a creative and resourceful business owner. Developing a love for visual media and a keen eye for composition during his twelve years working for renowned photographer Ken Duncan, Josh now uses his skills to create engaging video, photographic and media content for his clients. With such values as excellence, integrity, honour and empowerment Josh is keen to inspire others to great things creatively.

Reviews & Testimonials

I recently attended a two day Photoshop workshop in Mackay, it was fantastic. The Fotoworkshops team didn’t assume how much you know, they started at the basics, established a foundation of what you needed to know about Photoshop to use it then built on that foundation based on what the class wanted. They gave everyone in the class the opportunity of one-on-one tuition which is not all that common in group workshops. The workshop was kept light hearted and interesting that made the two day learning experience enjoyable. The highlight for me was at the end of each day you were able to sit down with the guys over a drink and talk about all levels of photography and they shared their experiences and knowledge with you.Well done Fotoworkshops. I would highly recommend everyone to give Fotoworkshops a go for an enjoyable and knowledgeable experience.

What a fantastic weekend. I was a bit concerned at how the workshop would be catered for both beginners and advanced photographers. Well I need not of worried. They handled it beautifully. As a more experienced photoshop user, I found the content interesting, learnt different ways to approach techniques and a few new tricks. Next to me was a new photoshop user – through a little help he was able to pick up the steps relatively swiftly. This reinforced to me that this was indeed a workshop that had something for all levels of photoshop users. On the last day some of thought we would share some landscape photography at Shoal Point. Nature put on a lovely show for us, a beautiful way to end a fun filled weekend. Thanks Fotoworkshops – you did it again

I can highly recommend the workshops run by Fotoworkshops. I enjoy my Landscape Photography and I had been wanting to attend a workshop for some time. When I saw that there was a 2 day workshop being run on the Central Coast where I live I decided this was the one. They demonstrated simple and easy methods to process the images so you can get the most out of your photos. They explained the settings and controls on the camera to take stunning Landscapes. How to compose the shot to add depth and interest. They also told us about workflow, explaining ways to get the most out of the time you have to process your images. It was not just theory and photoshop either. We had 3 great practical shoots at various locations around the coast. All very photogenic places where they spent time with each of us showing us how to put the details explained earlier in the day to practical use. I considered myself a reasonable Landscape photographer, but after the workshop with Fotoworkshops I could see many areas where my skills needed improvement. I now find after doing this workshop my photography has improved both capturing and processing the image. I have even applied the knowledge I gathered to improve the shots I had already taken with new Photoshop techniques. In short this is the best money I have spent on my photography in some time. They has inspired me to greater levels and I am starting to see that inspiration paying off in my images. Thank You!

I attended a recent workshop and it was fantastic!! I was always scared of photoshop and thought it it was a program that was too in depth for me But after this workshop I now feel I’m confident enough to get in and edit my photos – if anyone is considering attending one in the future, I would say just get in and do it, you won’t look back!!
